My passion for ice-skating

Last month, we were sent this amazing film of Tim performing his ice skating routine:

Tim has kindly written the following blog post to tell us more about himself and his skating…

My Mum and Dad grew up in England but went to Canada with my Dads work and I along with my two brothers were born in Canada. We are British and Canadian Citizens.

I live in Cornwall when I am in England and Ontario when I am in Canada.

I learnt to ski before I learnt to skate. My brother suggested that I learn to skate as he was helping another boy with Down syndrome skate and thought that I would like it.

I learnt to skate at a club in Hamilton Canada through The Special Olympics. I was 14 when I started skating . I am 37 now.

My favourite thing about skating is my skating friends. I like skating to music and doing tricks.

Canadian Olympic gold medalist Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue asked me to skate at a show and that was fun.

I have been to the World Championships for Special Olympics on The Canadian Team three times. I like winning medals.

When I am in England I skate with coach Debbie in Plymouth. I am sad that the ice rink has closed and I am going to Bristol to skate instead.

When I am not skating I like working at the gym at McMaster University in Canada. In England I sometimes help at The Clifftop Cafe.

I also like playing golf. I play in Canada but also take lessons at Whitsand Bay golf course with Andy.

I support Tottenham Hotspur and Plymouth Argyle. I like watching them play.

Thank you Tim!
