WorkFit Liaison Officer

This post is for a one year fixed term contract. An extension to the term of the contract is dependent on funding.

We have an exciting opportunity within our WorkFit programme.

WorkFit is our employment programme, which bridges the gap between employers and candidates with Down’s syndrome. WorkFit aims to find the right role for the right candidate, with the right level of support for success. The project supports a range of work opportunities, including paid work, voluntary work, work experience placements and supported apprenticeships/internships.

The successful applicant will join an award-winning supported employment team working with organisations from SMEs to some of the best known national and international brands to develop employment opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome. This is an exciting time for the programme, and we are working with many well-known and high-profile organisations across all industry sectors.

We are looking for a supported employment practitioner to provide support to the programme for a fixed term. The successful candidate will be part of the WorkFit Team and will report directly to the Employment Development Manager and the South Manchester Down’s Syndrome Support Group (SMDSSG). They will focus on developing employment opportunities for SMDSSG members in Greater Manchester, bringing together employers and affiliated support group members.

A key part of the role is to provide information to prospective employers and candidates about the programme and to effectively represent DSA to a range of stakeholders and so excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are essential. The ability to develop strong relationships and a proven ability to plan and manage project-based work and identify opportunities for development is essential.

Salary: £7,056.24

Hours: 10 per week
