The coronation was such a special day. After looking at the weather forecast for the day, we decided not to join the crowds lining the route but accept my sister’s kind invitation to watch the whole proceedings on her TV. I am so glad we did, it felt like we were there and could see everything including the royal family on the balcony!
We could see the crowds and the breath taking flypast of the Red Arrows. Later we sat down with my sister to enjoy what my sister called her coronation tea party. The table full of sandwiches, cakes, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. It was a tea party fit for a king.
Finally, we toasted our king and queen with a glass of champagne. The following evening, we enjoyed watching the concert that was at Windsor Castle. The whole weekend was one we will treasure.
