Ethan Stein: World-class Poet Changing Hearts and Minds

Ethan Stein is a young man studying catering and hospitality at college.
He loves rustling up delicious meals for his family and enjoys nothing more than prepping food at his aunt’s restaurant in Harris, Scotland during his summer holidays.
But that’s not all…

‘I like to cook. I like to cook risotto. The ingredients I use are mushrooms, onions, olive oil, arborio rice and vegetable stock cubes.  I also like making mushroom omelettes with my Dad every Friday and I like making soups at my Hospitality course at City and Islington College in London.  I am a poet-chef and I am professional.’

As if that wasn’t enough, Ethan is also a world-class poet and accomplished actor and musician. His words were set to music in opera Stones of Life written by his mum, composer Deidre Gribbin, with music by The Irish Chamber Orchestra and soprano voice of Sharon Carty.

We were lucky enough that Ethan and his dad took time to record an interview for us, which you can watch here:

‘I like music. I play the piano and I am learning Mozart minuet pieces. I know baroque music. I joined in the Hex Community Choir where I sing once a week with my mum, songs like Vivaldi and the Beatles. I like to write music to go with my poems.’

True inclusion brings out the best in people and urges them to aspire in a largely non-inclusive world.
