What a weekend | Kate’s blog

Saturday was meant to be a very exciting day. We had arranged to meet some old friends we have not seen for over 2 years. They live in Chesham which is almost at the end of the London underground system. As we have not been on the tube since lockdown began, this was going to be quite an adventure. As we live on the opposite side of London, it would mean a bus journey plus 26 stops on the tube with 3 changes at different stations. We estimated the whole trip would take about 2 hours. So off we set with high hopes! But sadly on the first part of the journey after we traveled about 7 stops, it was announced that due to lack of staff due to Covid-19, several parts of the network were closed and it was impossible to reach our destination. We had no option but to return home. We were bitterly disappointed. So on Monday to cheer ourselves, we went to one of our favourite places. The RHS gardens at Wisely. Because of my injured leg, I needed to be in a wheelchair but the weather was glorious and we had a great time. Stay safe everybody, Kate.
