CAREVIS LC: Care and Long Covid Support

Co-creation And Evaluation of a Visual REsource to support Long-COVID Care in people with Intellectual DisabilitieS (CAREVIS Long-COVID)

We have been talking to people with learning disabilities, like Down’s Syndrome. These people have been feeling ill with COVID for a long time (more than three months). This is called Long-COVID. We have been asking them how they feel and how things have changed since they got Long-COVID. We have also talked to their carers.

We have also been asking how easy it is to talk to carers and doctors and nurses about how they have been feeling with Long-COVID. We hope to make talking easier between people with a learning disability and people who look after them. We will be using pictures to help. We hope that by using these pictures these talks will be easier and people with a learning disability and Long-COVID can get the help they need to feel better.

When we have worked out what pictures are useful to help talk about Long-COVID, we will ask lots of people with a learning disability if they are helpful.

We will listen to what they say and make change to the pictures.

If you think that you may have or have had Long-COVID and would like to find out more, then please email h.f.wythe@herts.ac.uk or call 07790566474.
