By utilising our DSActive programme, we want to provide as many opportunities as we can for people who have Down’s syndrome to be active, play sport and lead a healthy lifestyle. Our national programme offers a number of different sports, and we also run festivals to celebrate our athletes and their achievements, as well as providing training to coaches, and supporting people with Down’s syndrome to become coaches themselves.
DSActive relies almost entirely on voluntary donations, and we want to make sure we can continue providing these opportunities, which is why this month, we’ve teamed up with money saving website My Favourite Voucher Codes.
My Favourite Voucher Codes specialise in helping their users to save money, while raising funds for good causes at the same time. Every month they donate 20% of their profits to charity, and the organisation that receives the donation is decided through the site’s monthly poll. Since 2012, My Favourite Voucher Codes have raised over £57,000 for different charities including Disability Challengers, Cancer Research UK, and Scope. This April, DSActive are one of four charities taking part, and we need your votes!
How Does It Work?
The four charities that take part engage in a little friendly competition, to see who can win the most votes by visitors to the site. At the end of the month, the charity with the most votes is the winner.
When it comes to raising the money, this is done through the voucher codes the site has on offer. My Favourite Voucher Codes is home to thousands of discount codes and promotions from the UK’s biggest retailers, and every time a purchase is made through the site, they make a small commission at no extra cost to you. It’s through this that the donation to the winning charity is made.
How Can I Vote?
Voting for DSActive this April is nice and easy. From the 1 April, head over to My Favourite Voucher Codes where you’ll find the charity poll on the right hand side. Simply click the button for DSActive, followed by the red ‘vote’ button, and that’s it! Voting is completely free and you don’t need to use any codes or sign up to anything for it to count.
