Universal Credit Changes

Changes from 16 November – for those paid monthly

Some of our members may be affected by the current rules if they are occasionally paid early because of ‘non-banking’ days. Earnings are usually reported through the real time information service (RTI).

Getting paid on these days has resulted in two sets of wages going through one UC assessment period, subsequently affecting their work allowance for that month.

From 16 November the regulations are changing to allow for the reallocation of earnings to the next calendar month.

This new law will not cover those who are paid weekly, fortnightly or four weekly.
