Cost of Living Payment

The 2nd cost of living payment (£324) will be paid between 8 and 23 of November to those who were receiving qualifying benefits such as UC, Income related ESA and tax credits, for the period 26 August to 25 September.

You should have received the first payment of £326 in July if you were in receipt of qualifying benefit from 26 April to 25 May.

I shared more about this earlier this month.

Universal Credit – Are you missing out on extra money

For those who have claimed Universal credit…could you please check that you have asked for a work capability assessment to be carried out when you claimed?

I have been talking to a few parents who are unaware of the potential extra payment they can receive on top of the standard UC amount if they are found to have limited capability for work related activity (LCWRA). This amount is currently £354.28 on top of the personal amount. It is paid after the assessment and usually in the 3rd payment period.

If you have limited capability for work (LCW) you would not receive any extra benefit.

You can ask in the job journal if this assessment has been done and if not, to ask for one.

Further information can be found in our website.

In both instances you would then have a work allowance which means that you can earn up to £573 per month (for those with no housing cost) or £344 per month for those with housing cost, before UC is reduced.

Please give me a call if you are unsure.
