Sara Pickard has been involved in campaigning work for people with a learning disability since leaving college. Sara is an elected community councillor for her local area in Wales and has held the position since 2011.
In 2019, Sara was nominated as one of the 400 ‘Women of the Year’ and in 2020, she spent a year with the Welsh Government as the Disabled People’s Employment Champion, working with businesses to encourage them to employ more people with disabilities.
This summer, Sara embarked on a month-long internship with ITV Wales News. This interview with Molly from the Our Voice network was recorded just as she started in June.
