I go to a drama group called the Baked Bean Theatre company, and I’ve been going for a long time.
We do acting, dancing and singing, and perform in plays and shows, so that we can show people how it’s done! I go there on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and I do Musical Theatre and dance classes. I like the warm ups, where we do stretches and exercises to warm up our bodies, and character work where we get to ‘hot seat’ our characters. This is when you sit in a chair, and people ask you questions. Most recently, I did this as the character of Marilyn Monroe!
Everyone’s my friend there, and I like acting together, and going on holidays together. I meet up with my friends from Baked Bean outside of the classes as well. I’ve learnt a lot there – how to be confident, work as a group, read lines, and how to speak out more.
Come to see us and you will have a good time! The staff and tutors there are really friendly people, and the classes I do are really enjoyable to be in.
