Amy

My name is Amy and I work at a hotel in Paignton. I travel there on the bus by myself. I look after three tables in the restaurant. I have to make sure that each table has the right cutlery and salt and pepper and sauces. When people come into the restaurant I say: “Hi I’m Amy and I will be serving you this morning.” Then I take their orders for tea or coffee and ask if they need anything else. I have been diagnosed with coeliac disease which means I can’t eat certain things that contain gluten. I am able to help guests when they ask for gluten-free food. After everyone has eaten I clear the tables and get them ready for the next day. I love going to work, my new friends and feel like I have achieved a lot. I feel like a member of the team and I love getting paid.
