A Short Getaway and a Night at the Theatre | Kate’s Blog

My friend and I went to Norwich for a short holiday. We stayed with family and friends.

We had a very busy time during the next few days. The first on our list was a visit to Norwich Cathedral. It has wonderful stained-glass windows and is surrounded by lawns. It’s very peaceful. We next went to the Norfolk broads. We put on our life jackets and went on a trip around the lakes on a boat. It was very exciting. we took a trip into Great Yarmouth which is a seaside town. It was a fun place to be. The holiday was for me over too soon, but we had the best time ever.

When I got back home my parents, and I went to the National Theatre.

We saw a play called Dancing at Lughnasa. It was a story about 5 sisters living in rural Ireland in 1936. It was very well acted, funny at times, powerful and moving. At the end, the audience applauded. One of the actors appearing was Siobhan McSweeney who is a favourite of mine. She was a sister in the TV show Derry Girls. It was crowded with people as we made our way home along the South Bank. Even though it was quite late, after a Tube and Bus journey. We got home after midnight, but it was worth it.

Stay safe everybody.

Kate.
