My Skydive inspiration

By Katy Forrester

Hi I am Katy, I am 25 years old and I am raising money for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

I have taken the leap of faith and signed myself up to do a Skydive from 12,000 feet on the 24 June 2023 in order to help me raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart.

My brother James has Down’s syndrome. Ensuring that there is support and resources out there for people who have Down’s syndrome is something that is very important to me.

It is for this reason that I have chosen to fundraise for the Down’s Syndrome Association.

I believe that the work that they do and the support that they offer to families and carers of children or adults with Down’s syndrome is so valuable and can really help benefit their lives.

This is my first time doing something like this and whilst I am very scared at the prospect of jumping out of a plane at 12000 feet I am also determined to conquer my fear of heights and hopefully raise a lot of money for a worthwhile cause in the process. I’m sure that there will be many mental barriers that I will have to overcome, especially as D-Day draws closer but the thought of the donation I am able to make at the end of it all will make it feel worthwhile.

I would be so grateful to anybody who is willing to donate to my fundraiser, even if it is the smallest donation it will all help in the long run. If this is something that you care about or even if you just want to show me some support then you can donate here.
