For Zoe…my London Marathon story

By Tim Spoerer

My second daughter Zoe was born with the extra chromosome in December 2021 and I thought training and completing the London Marathon would be a great way to help secure a bright and positive future for her, whatever her needs may be.

My fundraising was a real pleasure, and with great help from the “Lots of Socks” the DSA sent me to sell and the generosity of friends, colleagues and family I am now about to break the £3000 mark.

The Marathon day itself was genuinely brilliant, on no other occasion would a bunch of strangers cheer on another bunch of strangers to achieve something, and running through a crowd for 4 and a half hours was quite something. What a buzz.

Thanks to everyone at the DSA for an awesome experience, worth all the hard work making Zoe’s future brighter.
