Language Development and Bilingualism in Down Syndrome: Parents’ Perspectives

Are you a parent raising a child with Down syndrome?

Are you interested in sharing information about your language background and your experiences with bilingualism?

If so, we would like to invite you to participate in our study!

We are conducting a research project to gain a better understanding of how parents of children with Down syndrome approach bilingualism. You do not need to be raising your child bilingually to take part, but we are looking for families who are either bilingual themselves or who have considered raising their child bilingually. By taking part in this study, you will have the opportunity to share your unique experiences and perspectives with us. This study aims to understand more about the support available to support language development in children with Down syndrome, your experiences with bilingualism and any strategies that you use to help with language learning. We hope that this will help us learn more about the current support available and whether further guidance is needed.

Participation in this study involves completing a short online survey, which should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. To participate, you must be a parent or carer of a child with Down syndrome (aged under 18) and be willing to share information about your language background and experiences with bilingualism. Your participation in this study is voluntary, and all information you provide will be completely anonymous. Participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 4 x £25 Amazon vouchers.
