Exploring perceptions of Quality of Life in people with learning disabilities and dementia

This research aims to explore views of quality of life in people with learning disabilities and dementia.

These views will inform the development of a quality of life measurement tool for people with learning disabilities and dementia.

The study is looking to recruit:

  1. Past or current family/paid carers of people with learning disabilities and dementia from any geographical area.
  2. People with learning disabilities with suspected or early stages of dementia residing in the London or Kent areas.

Family/paid carers will participate in an online focus group discussing what are the important aspects of quality of life for people with learning disabilities and dementia. This will last a maximum of two hours.

People with learning disabilities and suspected/early dementia will participate in person interviews. The interview will ask different areas of their life such as health and their friends/family. This will last a maximum of 45 minutes.
