Taylor Wimpey is proud to donate £250 to Down’s Syndrome Association

Taylor Wimpey South Thames has donated £250 to the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA); a charity that supports people of all ages with Down’s Syndrome.

The DSA offers a variety of services including a national helpline which receives over 11,000 calls a year and provides information, support and advice to people with Down’s Syndrome as well as their families. The charity runs a national sports programme, DSActive, which offers opportunities for children and adults with Down’s Syndrome to become involved in sport, the award-winning employment programme WorkFit and the Having a Voice project.

The money from Taylor Wimpey will go towards the Down2Earth group which is part of the Having a Voice project. Having a Voice gives people with Down’s syndrome a platform to have their say and be heard. The Down2Earth group meets in Teddington once a month.

Commenting on the support from Taylor Wimpey, Sharon Gordon-Roberts, Fundraising Director at the DSA, said: “Everyone at the DSA is passionate about providing inspirational opportunities and the right support for every individual with Down’s syndrome. Donations like this one from Taylor Wimpey to the Down2Earth group are greatly appreciated and will help us to keep the group running and continue to give its members a platform to have their say on issues that matter to them.”

Tina Chalk, Sales Manager at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, said: “We are proud to have donated £250 to the DSA who play an important role in helping those with Down’s syndrome to live a happy and fulfilling life. We are committed to giving something back to the areas in which we are building and I look forward to hearing more about the incredible work of the DSA in the future.”
