Phillip Schofield joins DSA for the 14th annual BGC Charity Day

We were thrilled to attend this year’s BGC Charity Day with very special guest Phillip Schofield on Tuesday 11 September.

Phillip joined family members of the DSA as well as ambassadors and beneficiaries from sixteen other charities to take over the BGC offices in London to raise money and awareness and to commemorate the colleagues and employees BGC lost on 9/11. On BGC Charity Day, 100% of global revenues raised are donated to the participating charities and the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, transforming thousands of lives. So far, BGC Charity Day has raised nearly $147 million.

Shortly after arriving at the offices on the day, we were taken to the Atrium on the 18th floor which was filled with fun activities for all the children attending with their charities. Superman, Batman and the very popular PJ Masks even made an appearance to entertain everyone and played many games of table tennis.

When Phillip arrived we headed up to a very busy and noisy trading floor where he had a go at closing some deals. Afterwards we headed back down to the Atrium to meet with the families. He spent lots of time with the two families that joined us on the day and enjoyed playing balloon tennis with all the children.

Phillip kindly recorded this message for our members, voicing his support for the DSA:

The money raised from our involvements in the BGC Charity Day will go towards our DSActive programme and will be transformational for the project. We want to continue to expand DSActive, to reach more children and adults with Down’s syndrome, throughout the country, and inspire them to get active.

Our involvement in the BGC Charity Day was also an amazing opportunity to raise awareness of the work of the DSA around the world.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our day out and would like to say thank you to BGC Partners and Phillip Schofield for their support and the opportunity to raise awareness for the work we do alongside so many fantastic causes.
