Just the two of us

Love needs space

To celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (21 March 2022) we were pleased to support the latest CoorDown global awareness campaign Just The Two Of Us, to promote the right of people with Down Syndrome to experience romantic and sexual relationships and receive correct and accessible information to enjoy a full and healthy sexual freedom.

Watch the film below…

In the comedic short, two is company, three is definitely a crowd and ten is far too many.

Everyone has a right to develop romantic relationships and to fully enjoy their sexuality, yet for people with Down’s syndrome this is often still a taboo.

People who have Down’s syndrome and other learning disabilities have a right to exist as sexual beings, and to receive accessible information to enable them to enjoy sex.

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is essential in supporting people with learning disabilities to understand their rights, their freedoms to sexual expression, consent, boundaries and safe sex. RSE is also important in providing people with learning disabilities the tools to understand their own body and crucial in protecting individuals from abuse.

CoorDown have created a website to accompany the campaign.

We are pleased to announce that as part of CoorDown’s campaign we have made our Let’s Talk About Relationships and Sex resources free to download from our website.
