A new adventure for star fundraiser – travelling the length of South America by motorbike

Richard ‘Dicky’ Barr and his trusty sidekick Tom Mouse have been on their travels again.

At the end of last year, over three months, long-time DSA fundraiser Richard travelled over 10,000 miles (16,000 kilometres) on motorbike through South America.

Richard and Tom Mouse travelled from the top of the continent right to its very tip, passing through six countries: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina.

You can see more photos and read more details of their trip here. If you’d like to support Richard’s fundraising, you can donate online here.

Richard has been fundraising for the DSA and Woolgrove School in Letchworth Garden City for over 17 years in memory of his son, Tom, who died when he was young. Earlier last year, he rode across all of London’s road bridges on a Penny Farthing!

Tom Mouse is the star of his own series of children’s books, written by Richard, which you can purchase from our online shop.

We’re so grateful for Richard’s ongoing support and can’t wait to find out what he, and Tom Mouse, get up to next!
