Former F1 champion, Damon Hill OBE and Michael Caines MBE, will be jointly hosting a day of golf and an evening dinner for Down Syndrome International and the Down’s Syndrome Association at the England Golf award winning Exeter Golf and Country Club on Friday 4 October 2019.
Damon (who has a son with Down’s syndrome) and Michael, are both patrons of the charities, who support people with Down syndrome, their families, carers and professionals, throughout the world.
The day will consist of 18 holes of golf with competitions, followed by a 4-course evening dinner, entertainment, raffle and charity auction. The dinner will be created and prepared by Exeter Golf and Country Club head chef, Adam Little, and Michael Caines MBE.
Registration will commence at 9am with bacon sandwiches and coffee.
A goody bag is provided for every player, kindly sponsored by The Exeter.
10.30am shotgun start.
Included in the cost of the golf is the individual and team competitions with trophies and prizes.
Optional extra competitions: Beat The Pro; Longest drive (male and female); Nearest The Line; and Putting Competition.
These are priced at £5 per person on the day or £15 to book all 4 in advance.
The Gala Dinner
Michael Caines MBE and Damon Hill OBE will be hosting a special gala evening event (open to partners, friends and associates).
The evening will include a four-course menu with paired wines, created and prepared by Michael himself and the club’s head chef, Adam Little. There will also be an auction, prize draw, golf presentation and live music.
We will welcome guests from 6pm with a drinks reception in Wear Park, kindly provided by our evening sponsors, Salcombe Gin.
Dinner from 7pm in the Duckworth Suite with wine sponsored by Tolchards and Regency Wines.

The charities are being supported by Lympstone Manor and other companies with auction lots. Lympstone Manor is donating an overnight stay for two with dinner. Exeter Golf and Country Club is offering three lots including a four-ball golf day with lunch, a full leisure membership for rackets, fitness and swimming, and an ‘Ultimate Spa Retreat’ at Wear Park Spa.
