Support Us : How you can get involved…

2020 is a really special year for DSA as we’re turning 50! In celebration of such a huge milestone, the Fundraising Team have planned some great events that you can get involved in during the year. Join #Team21 in 2020 for a series of fantastic 50th fundraising events.

50 for 50

On Saturday 21 March we will be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day and DSA’s birthday in Salisbury for an extra special event. Not only will there be 50 people taking on a skydive for DSA with the help of GoSkydive (which is awesome enough in itself) but we will also be hosting a Picnic Party at Old Sarum Airfield Museum. There’s going to be live music, food and games for all to enjoy.

Devon to Paris 50th Anniversary Cycle

The 21st June marks the beginning of a week-long trip from Devon to Paris in support of DSA. This challenge will raise awareness and important funds for DSA, but it is also a trip of a lifetime for those who decide to take part. Grab your mates and enjoy a trip together that will not only give you some great memories but provide DSA with the vital funds needed to keep doing the work it does best. Get your bike out of the shed, pull on the Lycra and dust off your helmet because you are going to be cycling to Paris in support of DSA and people with Down’s syndrome!

Challenge 50

Our Challenge 21 is getting an upgrade in 2020! Challenge 50 allows you to decide on your own challenge or event and how big or small you want it to be. You could decide to do 50 star jumps, bake 50 cupcakes or even a random act of kindness each day for 50 days.

Get your friends, family, work or school involved and see what different and exciting ideas you can come up with to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. As 50 years means gold, why not involve the colour in your event plans? You may even want to throw a golden themed DSA party to celebrate with everyone you care about!

You can find some ideas on our website here!

Celebrate our 50th Anniversary YOUR way!

Remember, you can also put on your own event to celebrate our birthday. Why not hold a pub quiz style evening, or a ‘Come Dine With Me’ week with friends and family? You could even celebrate with some birthday cake and a collection at work or school. A sponsored silence or giving up your favourite thing for 21 days could also be your way to celebrate? Whatever you choose to do, we thank you for your support!
