Read the Down’s Syndrome Associations submission to the Work and Pension’s Committee. The Committee is currently looking at evidence submitted about the current Work Programme and Work Choice. The DSA has made the following recommendations to the Committee:
- For the DWP to consider the DSA’s WorkFit programme as the specialist advisor for people with Down’s syndrome in line with the current welfare to work provisions.
- For National funds to be used to reward outcomes from locally commissioned support provisions.
- For any savings accrued from the current welfare to work programmes to be invested in other provisions such as Access to Work to increase the number of participants accessing real jobs.
The full submission is available here.
