DSA working with Down’s Syndrome Scotland and Royal College of Obsteticians and Gynaecologists on new training resource for maternity professionals

As part of its on going Tell It Right® campaign, the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) is working together with Down’s Syndrome Scotland and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists to help raise awareness of Down’s syndrome in the field of fetal medicine. The three organisations are developing a proposal for a new eLearning resource with the aim of helping the professionals working with pregnant women to provide balanced and accurate information about the condition.

The Down’s Syndrome Association will continue to campaign for pregnant women to be well supported throughout their antenatal, birth and post natal care by well trained health professionals, who can provide accurate, up-to-date and balanced information about the joys and challenges of having a child with Down’s syndrome. This information must be given without bias or direction and must include easily understood and relevant facts about living with Down’s syndrome today.
