Dancestars Sheffield at the Special Olympics

Dancestars Sheffield is a dance group for children and young people with Down’s syndrome . They have been dancing together for around four years and their ages range from 9 – 29.

In August this year they made their mark by dancing at the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics.

The ceremony took place in a Bramall Lane stadium, home of Sheffield United football club and followed the parade of athletes with special needs from across the country.

It was an amazing opportunity for the group to show case their moves and be part of something special. They got to dance with a group of professional street dancers and dancing in a football stadium to a crowd of thousands of athletes, their friends and family was a huge boost to their confidence.
