About Down's Syndrome : What I Bring To My Community – #InclusionMatters

19-25 March 2018

This year for World Down Syndrome Day and throughout Awareness Week we will be celebrating all the different ways people with Down’s syndrome make a difference to their communities.

Watch our films and find us on Facebook and Twitter to join in the festivities.

We have loads of resources and support to make schools, organisations and workplaces more inclusive.

0333 1212 300 Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm or email info@downs-syndrome.org.uk

Our Helpline is a great place to start.

The team are happy to offer support and information to everyone – people with Down’s syndrome, their families, the people that support them – and can help with a wide range of issues.

The Information Officers will be happy to talk through your questions or concerns.

A call to an 0333 number costs the same as a call to a normal home or business landline.

WorkFit is a service which turns the ‘supported employment’ concept on its head.

It is a tailored service dedicated to training employers about the learning associated with people with Down’s syndrome. Finding the right employment opportunities, for the right people.

Register on the WorkFit website and a member of the team will be in touch.

The DSActive programme provides opportunities for people with Down’s syndrome to get active and take part in sporting activities.

We work with existing clubs and provide advice and support and also help promote what the club is doing.

Visit the DSActive website to find out more or contact the team if you want to get your club involved.

If you’re a school or service provider who would like to know more about Down’s syndrome, our Training team provides a range of courses that can help you.

As well as running open courses throughout the year, the Training team can work with you to develop a course that fits your requirements exactly.

Visit the Training pages to find out more about the courses on offer or drop the team an email to make an enquiry.

We have a wide variety of resources to help…we’ve highlighted a few that are particularly relevant, below, but do browse our website or speak to our Helpline if you can’t find what you are looking for.
