Terms & Conditions - Online Shop

1. Format of the Contract

These terms of sale apply to all products supplied by DOWN’S SYNDROME ASSOCIATION (DSA).

No contract exists between you and us for the sale of any products until we have received and accepted your order.

A confirmation of your order to buy the products will be sent via email to you shortly after you place the order.

We may change these terms and conditions of sale without notice to you in relation to future sales.

2. Description and Price of Goods

The description and price of the products you order will be as shown on our website at the time you place your order.

All our products are exempt from VAT and this will not be added to the total of your order.

Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown on our website are accurate at the time you place your order although prices are subject to change without notice.

If after acceptance of the order we discover that the goods will be unavailable for longer than 28 days we will inform you and offer you the option of receiving the rest of your order and supplying the unavailable product when it becomes available, or for you to wait for the complete order to be dispatched at a later date.

3. Payment

You can order and pay online by Mastercard, Visa or Maestro. (Please note that we cannot accept payment by Visa Electron).

All orders made online are paid through our PayPal account.

There will be no delivery until cleared funds are received.

4. Delivery

Products will be dispatched once payment has been processed.

Products will be delivered to the address supplied on the order form. Once the order has left us for delivery, we cannot change this address.

You will only be able to order through our website if you live in the UK.

If you live overseas (this includes R.O.I) and would like to order any of our products then please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with full details of your order. We will contact you with the delivery costs and will then invoice you for the total amount of your order including the delivery charge. We will require payment before products are dispatched.

We aim to dispatch products within 7 - 28 days of when your order is placed. If you have not received your items after 28 days then please contact us and we will check your order. As you will understand, we accept no responsibility for delays in the postal system.

5. Postal Charges

DSA is a not-for-profit charity and in order to keep our product prices low we charge customers carriage to cover the cost of postage and packaging.
The postal charges for our website are based on the total weight of your basket. Each product has a specific weight which will total up when added to the shopping cart and then the corresponding postage charge will be added to your order. The following charges apply:

  • 0 - 500g = £2.00
  • 501 - 1000g = £3.50
  • 1001g - 2000g = £6.00
  • 2001g - 3000g = £7.50
  • > 3001g = £10.00

(Please note prices are subject to change due to postal charge increases)

6. Returns

If the products supplied to you are faulty, e.g. a Video/DVD does not play properly, then you are required to contact us. Please quote your order number.

We will exchange the faulty product for you. All exchanges require that you return the product to us at your cost. Once the faulty product is received we will dispatch the new product to the same delivery address provided with the original order.

7. Data Protection / Privacy of Personal Information

We believe it is important that you are able to shop in complete confidence, in the knowledge that the information you supply to us is kept secure at all times.

In order to fulfil any order, we ask you for certain personal information, such as your name, address, contact details, email address and payment details.

We will keep a record of your personal information for the purposes of processing your order and any follow up customer service requirements.

8. Security

All credit card transactions are carried out in secure mode. This means that all information is protected by SSL with an encryption key length of 128 bits (the highest level commercially available).
