Transforming the Quality of Dementia Care
The Department of Health is developing a national strategy for dementia services and has asked for views on the ideas set out in the document.
The strategy has three main aims:
a) to improve the awareness of dementia
b) to promote the early diagnosis of dementia
c) to improve quality of care and support to people with dementia and their carers.
Our response agrees in general with the aims and outcomes but highlights areas of concern, and in particular the relevance of the proposals to people with Down's syndrome.
