A Well Being & Mental Health Service Fit for Wales

The Minister for Health and Social Services in Wales has requested this report, which recommends a statutory body be established that is responsible for mental health and well being in Wales.

Part of the proposal is that this body would also take responsibility for all services to people with learning disabilities.

Our response indicates that we would approve of measures suggested that would improve services to people with Down's syndrome who also have mental health needs. We do not, however, support the proposal to have all services for people learning disabilities under the same body.
