Local Support Groups and Volunteers

The DSA has a created a Local Groups and Volunteering Guide to help local support groups support their volunteers. The guide covers every stage of volunteering, from reaching out to new volunteers to volunteering health and safety guidance and volunteer support. You can also access template sheets which you can print out and use.

Opportunities to volunteer with people with Down's syndrome

The DSA doesn’t tend to have volunteering opportunities with children or adults with Down’s syndrome. If you would like to volunteer with people with Down’s syndrome, we recommend that you contact your local volunteering centre or visit www.do-it.org.uk to find out what opportunities are available near you.

Opportunities with DS Active

Like football? Fancy helping kids and young people with Down's syndrome build their potential and confidence? DS Active runs football teams for children and young people with Down's syndrome across England and Wales, and is always on the lookout for potential helpers and coaches. Take a look at the DS Active website to find out how to get involved: www.dsactive.org/get-involved/coaches.
