Helpline

If you have any questions or concerns about Down’s syndrome our Helpline advisors on tel: 0333 1212 300. They can provide information, support, guidance and signposting to other appropriate organisations. We cannot guarantee the service of other organisations we refer you to.

The Helpline is usually open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Callers can access trained helpline advisers. The service may be closed occasionally during these times for operational reasons; if this occurs notice will be given on our website.

Please note: The Association takes caller confidentiality very seriously and our Data Protection Policy is in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998). Callers’ personal details are not shared with third parties unless consent has been given.

Exceptions to this policy are only made when there is a potential risk to the caller or others, or when required by law. This will be in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy.

Caller information is recorded for the following reasons:

  • Returning calls
  • Sending out information
  • Making referrals, if appropriate, when requested by the caller.
  • Statistical information is collated from the calls to support the work of the DSA and its future direction. Such information is made anonymous.

Information is recorded electronically using a system which complies with EU and UK Data Protection Laws.
