GlaxoSmithKline

gsk_logoThe DSA would like to graciously thank GlaxoSmithKline for their continued support of Shifting Perspectives.

In July 2009, GSK renewed their commitment through to 2013 which will enable Shifting Perspectives to continue to exhibit throughout the UK, but also internationally sharing its vibrant images and shifting the current public perception about Down's syndrome.

Adding a new dimension to their support, GSK are also funding My Perspective, a photography competition for people with Down's syndrome.

GlaxoSmithKline's (GSK) global mission is to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer. Through our programmes of charitable and community partnerships we support a wide variety of organisations, mainly in the areas of healthcare and science education, and also in the arts and the environment. It is our intention to support organisations that are dynamic and innovative and we try to support a wide range of diverse projects that we feel add value in a creative way.

GSK's support for the ‘Shifting Perspectives' exhibition is certainly one such project. The aim of the exhibition is to demonstrate that people with Down's syndrome can and do lead full, rewarding and semi-independent lives and its intention is to educate and enlighten the audience, thus challenging some preconceived perceptions people may hold, demonstrating through photographic images that people with Down's syndrome are individuals with dreams, hopes and aspirations.

The DSA is delighted to be working with GSK and we look forward to our continuing relationship with them.
