Bookham 10k 2009 - Sunday 8th February 2009

Early on Sunday morning, with the magnificent Surrey North Downs still cloaked in a blanket of snow, 277 intrepid souls braved the cold and icy conditions to complete the 4th Bookham 10K.

Once again, the race organiser Andy Fay and all his valiant helpers provided faultless preparation allowing everyone to have a good run.

Due to the tricky conditions of mud, slush and icy puddles no course records were beaten but

Alex Ward of Dorking & Mole Valley AC came in first with a time of 46.07.

All finishers received a round of applause, t-shirt, goodie bag and a well earned drink of water.  Inside the school hall the Dann family provided a warming hot drink and a selection of calorific chocolate cakes and snacks.

All proceeds our once again coming to the Down's Syndrome Association.  We extend our most sincere thanks to Andy Fay and family, all the marshals and volunteers.  A really well organised race with a superb family feel that we are delighted to be a part of.  Well done and thank you from everyone at the Down's Syndrome Association.
