Charity Sky-Dive from 14,000ft raises more than just nerves!

  • Friday, 14 November 2008 12:19

Kerry Johnson is hoping for good weather on Sunday 22nd November - Kerry along with her friends Karen Arnfield and Sarah Collins are going to be defying all levels of common-sense and sky-dive from 14,000 feet to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Down's Syndrome Association.

Kerry's son, Enzo-Ty who has Down's syndrome is the true inspiration for their leap of faith from such a height.

Kerry has been truly astounded by the response from friends, family and the local community who have given so generously. The ladies have already raised over £4,300 through sponsors and hope to keep collecting right up to the date. Kerry said "Everyone has been really supportive and we are delighted by the responses of all the people we have approached."

Even Enzo-Ty has been encouraging his mum with his friends taking part in their own 'Little Jump' from the front step (140mm) at Lynwood Day Nursery.

Xanthe Breen from the Down's Syndrome Association said "Kerry is obviously not only a courageous woman but a natural fundraiser. We are delighted to hear that her local community are showing their support not only for Kerry and Enzo-Ty but the wider community too. The funds raised will allow us to continue supporting the 60,000 people with Down's syndrome in the country."

To sponsor Kerry, Sarah and Karen contact the DSA fundraising department and we will forward your details on to the jumpers!
