Intrepid family walks 190 gruelling miles of the Pembrokeshire Way for 13-month-old with Down's syndrome
Family members Tom Hancock aged 17, his brother Joe aged 14 and dad Andrew have completed the Pembrokeshire coastal path (on Tuesday 29th July) to support a remarkable young boy and raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association. All together they have raised roughly £500.

The Hancock's were inspired to traverse the 190 miles for 13-month-old Alfie, who was born with Down's syndrome weighing just 4lb 2oz. He had a very tough start with a heart operation, MRSA and meningitis all in the first six months of his life - but he's now thriving. Inspired by his determination the Hancock men travelled from their Lancashire and south Wales homes to join forces and walk the Pembrokeshire Way for the Down's Syndrome Association.
The walk took the three men 8 days to complete, with them covering up to approximately 30 miles per day. Tom said ‘It was hard work and even tougher with the weight I had to carry but it was worth it as it was all for a good cause.'
Alfie's aunt, Charlotte Sharp, said: "I am very proud of Tom and his family for showing their support for Alfie and raising money for such a good cause. We have been really grateful for the help the Down's Syndrome Association has given us, and we're pleased to say Alfie is now doing very well! He is the best inspiration any of us could have and brings so much joy into our lives."
