‘Special Contact’ Volunteers

One of the Association’s main aims is the provision of information and support to individuals with Down’s syndrome and their families or carers. We have received funding from the Community Fund to help us recruit, train and support ‘Special Contact’ volunteers that will assist our Regional Development Officers in providing support to families on a local level.

We are particularly keen to recruit people who have some personal experience or knowledge of Down’s syndrome e.g. parents, siblings or grandparents who would be willing to talk to or meet with other families or new parents in their area.

Training and ongoing support will be provided.

If you think that you might be interested in this important role, please contact Julian Hallett dsa.wales@lineone.net or phone 029 20522511.
